Responsibilities and Duties

  • Gives assigned bed, tub, shower or whirlpool baths. All residents/patients, except those who are independent, are to have early AM care and PM care. This consists of washing faces, hands, under breasts, arms and genital area followed by a back rub, mouth care and checking the feet daily. ·
  • Range of motion is completed daily as indicated by the care plan. ·
  • Incontinent residents must be washed at each change. Avoid any unnecessary exposure to provide dignity at all times. ·
  • Be watchful at all times for the ambulatory resident/ patient who is confused in direction or becomes unsteady.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Current NYS CNA Certification ·
  • Good health, high moral character, clean personal appearance and a desire to work with the elderly resident. ·
  • Able to perform resident transfers and repositioning up to 35# without the use of transfer equipment. ·
  • A minimum of 6 hours education to be completed during each six- month period (Jan. – June and July – Dec.)
